Romina Power debuted in Sanremo in 1976 with Non due and failed to qualify for the final. Soon after she was on Eurovision stage with husband Al Bano singing We'll live all again scoring a 7th place. Later in the 1980's the couple enjoyed huge success both home and abroad and also scored top places (and huge hits) in Sanremo: 1982 Felicitá (2nd), 1984 Ci sará (winner), 1987 Nostalgia canaglia (3rd) and 1989 Cara terra mia (3rd) In between they also had another go in Eurovision with Magic oh magic in 1985 placing again 7th. Their last Sanremo together was in 1991 with Oggi sposi, 11th. The 1990's were full of drama for Romina. Their eldest daughter Yelania disappeared in 1994 in New Orleans and has never been found. The couple divorced in 1999 and she left the music scene and started a career as a painter and writer, as well as returned to acting (that she had done since childhood) and also hosted some TV-shows. In 2007 she moved to the Unites States.
However, in 2012 she released an album, Da lontano, originally planned for 1998 release to launch her solo career that never happened, including songs like Tears are not pearls.
Romina turns 62 today so.... happy birthday! Auguri!
