It has been finally announced, Copenhagen will host the Eurovision song contest 2014 . The venue is B&W Hallerne at the Refshaleøen, where DR and EBU plan to create an Eurovision island. Sounds good and impact so far! It's a former shipyard that will undergo a major renovation and adaption work, but as they have done such things in Finland, I think it'll be great! This blogger is a huge fan of old industrial sites renovated and taken into a modern use so I'm pretty excited how it all turns out in the end.
Copenhagen that was awarded this year the World's best city and will be European Union's Green City 2014 indeed has some pretty cool sounding plans. There will a Fan Mile in the city center with Eurovision events. Shuttle buses and boats will bring people to the venue island, that will be lit up so its 60 meter high walls will be seen from a far. Meanwhile from the island one can see Copenhagen skyline. Eurovision park will be next to the venue making it an open to everyone celebration.
The show will starr with the presenter(s) on the building's roof among laser lights and fireworks. One can only hope it won't be raining! After all it's early May....
