There's a little bit of Finland in the Swedish 2012 entry for Baku, Loreen's Euphoria. Not only is Loreen's wardrobe and look cured by a Finnish Tommy Granfors but also her choreographer is half Finnish, half Italian Ambra Succi. She has a dance studio in Stockholm and has made a great job with Loreen who has never danced before. She tells Loreen has been practicing the number since December and the trick is to make it look as effortless and natural as possible. Every moment is rehearsed and planned from eye movements to hands and fixed to suit Loreen and her personality. Ambra, Tommy and Loreen worked together already last year with My heart is refusing me and Ambra, who usually doesn't work with commercial events chose to work with Loreen as she's genuine and original, single-minded and hard worker and now the hard work is paying off.
The choreography is a real collaboration between the two women who sought inspiration in the movie world, Memoirs of a geisha and Hero first of all. Their aim was to keep it as martial arts as possible instead of the usual Eurovision glitter even if that was a risk. They had doubts people would like it but we know now better and they are very pleased. Ambra will travel to Baku with Loreen to fine tune the choreography for that stage. The performance will still look as effortless and spontaneous as before but behind it there's months of work.
