Jippu talks in Helsingin Sanomat and Rumba about her new album that was released this week. As we know the artists have bigger feelings than us common people. She describes this new album as "a story of growth from a girl to a woman" and how one "grows through pain and mistakes. I have been an egoistic pig. I also thought one must live all emotions. I was so sceptic nothing mattered." Now she says she's over her growing experience and has mature adult feelings. "I'm over self pity and insecurity. They have been with me for so long I can't totally get rid of them. I went through all religions, too." And now, ladies and gentlemen: Jippu is 22-years-old!

Anyways, she may sound a bit coccoo at times but she's fabulous nature child. She believes in the eyes of Finns lives some unidentified Slavic melancholy and I must agree on that. "Abroad they always mistake me as Russian". Her new album shows the darker side of this fragile poet girl she was on her debut album. Song titles include I give up, I can't live, Heart gets beaten up, Birch trees of Hell. Songs deal with domestic violance, broken hearts, shattered dreams. "There has not been any major tragedies after my first album. I just needed to get these feelings out of my chest or I would go nuts. My next album will be filled with love and light, the resurrection!"
Jippu has been a special case since her childhood. At school she was put to the class of troubled ones and has been though therapies. At school she failed exams on purpose and in karaoke sung off key just to hide who she was. Her grandfather was a priest who had her mother at tender age of 60 and her father is opera singer. "I remember waking up every morning to voice opening practises, including spitting chewing gum to the ceiling lying down at the floor!" She loved opera but listened to heavy rock, nastier the better.
Now, she's in love with simple things, happily engaged and recently moved from the center of Helsinki to Espoo by the sea and touring Finland with her new material. "And I'm so happy!"
