EUROVISION 2021: REHEARSAL DAY 4, part 1 - GEORGIA, ALBANIA, PORTUGAL AND BULGARIA

The fourth day of first rehearsals delivers us the goods of the remaining semi-finalist, including favorites Bulgaria and Switzerland and of course the underdog Finland that I like to think will do a lot better that fandom thinks at this point. Photos and videos as always from eurovision.tv

After today's rehearsals Bulgaria, Finland, Portugal (+5), Denmark (+2), Latvia, Albania (+2) moved up in odds while Georgia went dowm (-2). Otherwise Sweden continues to drop and Ukraine to climb. Also Belgium, Moldova, Australia, Ireland, Czech republic, Poland go down and Slovenia, Estonia up.

Georgia's Tonike Kipiani kept it all simple for his staging. In the dark stage only lights on him sitting on a box and writing sin both English and Georgian on him, the smoke and the backdrop. Apparently all was fine enough so in the third run through he felt relaxed enough to play with his voice and sing the song and not only in various voices just to annoy the euroboys. Extra points from me for that!

Albania's Anxhela Peristeri continues the trend of white/silver short glittery dresses but her staging is all play with light and shadow, smoke and colors in perfect tune with the music. Vocally perfect and full of energy. It seems they did it all right.

Portugal's The Black Mamba uss the trick familiar from the national final starting with black and white before turning into colors, the backdrop seems to work and the colors. Looks like also Portugal got it right this time and all is forgiven they adopting to sing in English. Then again, I always said this could be a shock qualifier.

Bulgaria's Victoria, one of the favorites, offers us starry skies, a rock in the sea where she sits on with a photo of his father in this staging that underlines the melancholy of the song. With sand falling from the sky. Time sand? Or its it a truck platform and road construction? All this one seems to already pretty perfect. Generally it seems the break has been good for most if not every country and they really have thought over the stagings and all have invested in them. Well, most of them anyways....
