Sanremo's success is unstoppable. One thing for sure is good about this: the success proves one can do prime time entertainment based on music and songs and have success. No need to invite countless comedians, athletes and other celebrities to occupy hours of time. Sure, there have been some comedy acts, film promotions and such but if you compare to previous years it's been very little. Enough I'd say as it's been almost refreshing to have some Virginia Raffaele to make us laugh for ten minutes between songs. And she did sing, too. As have most every other guest. rethinking about the whole affair I'm ready to forgive even having so much Baglioni in the show. After all, he sings. Alone and with every guest and let him. It's music after all....
But back to success. Another over 50% share last night with an average of 10.108.000 viewers and 51,1% share. The success continues in social medias where Sanremo is growing every year and this year breaks all previous records.
An important thing has emerged today about the votings and how the final result is calculated. As we were let to think all night's various voting groups would have an egual part of the final result, it isn't so. Tonight is 50% while the four previous nights votings create the other half. Or so I have let myself understand. That of course puts more weight on tonight's performances, which is - maybe - just fair. After all now we have heard the songs already several times and some have proved not so good as in the first impact perhaps, while the more demanding once have grown on us and will be voted for their real merits. For once, I have no idea who is going to win but I suppose we might be having quite a few surprises tonight..... :-)
