Tonight the final also in Portugal. I doubt the Eurovision 2011 winner will come from here but there are quite a few interesting songs and entries Portugal could be proud of. Apparently Filipa Ruas is the favourite but I think choosing her Portugal would fall into trap of false hopes and unoriginality. The song sounds like a Melodifestivalen reject. A bit similar is Carla Moreno's song but I like that one more personally. I also like Wanda, Tania, Rui and Nuno. All have songs that are Poruguese in my ears yet easy enough. And we cannot forget Ricardo and the two groups 7 Saias and Homens de Luta but I hope neither of them wins tonight. Listen to the songs here.
UPDATED: A very nice looking show in Portugal. Nice stage, great postcards. Well done. 7 Saias opened the show with a very Portuguese sounding entry followed by Carla's international effort that still managed to sound somehow different. Maybe the vocals were a bit off at times but she looked fabulously likable anyways and the song could do wonders in this year's line up so far! Nuno offered a very special song. Very good indeed. Then Rui went all musical but despite his fine vocals and rather pleasant song it was hard to concentrate with the vision of his outfit! What was that? Thise pants?? But the songs have been rearranged and reproduced in a fine way and listening Portuguese is always a pleasure. I so wish Portugal would win one day soon!! We continue with musical theatre with Henrique and I wouldn't be surprised if this was the winner - to the horror of Eurovision fans! I'd be rather amuzed! What a wonderful creature Wanda is! I like the song a lot and she's a personality! If Portugal wants to go for the dramaballad Tania has it. She's great looking with great vocals and great song. Wouldn't be a bad choice either but maybe a bit safe? I'm liking the Portuguese final so far much much more than I ever expected! But then we are back to earth with Ines, the first filler in the line up. Very forgettable indeed. Filipa is one of the fan favourites but in my opinion she just killed the song on stage. Let Swedes do what they do better. If Portugal chooses this tonight ... please no! Average song by very average singer, totally uninteresting.... And then the obligatory novelty act by Homens that isn't even funny but even worse than I thought beforehand... Axel's Boom boom yeah! That sounds very good after the horror show before. Not really going anywhere but with a proper remix this song could become something! Last but not least Ricardo. A very oldfashioned but sympathic song. Could have been the Portuguese entry in the 1970's already but still beats many others today. Now one can only wait and wonder what they will choose. Hopefully something good as they have goodies to choose from. Or they can get it all wrong....
The voting.... this is crazy.... the song I liked the less out of 12 is leading! Porque?? The jury voting has ended:UPDATED: A very nice looking show in Portugal. Nice stage, great postcards.
