Today all the first semifinalists have their second rehearsal so it's going to be a long day! Slovenia started the party instead of Austria as they had switched places for some reason. Is it me or is the stage looking more and more like Helsinki 2007 with a hint of Oslo 2010 now that we see it better?
SLOVENIA - Hannah - Straight into love
Hannah and her three dancing boys are all dressed in futuristic black outfits while the stage remains blue and white all throughtout the performance. Hannah does a good job and the choreography is good, if not extremely original. She has also two female backing vocalists but hidden away somewhere it seems. Looks and sounds like a rather polished entry. Let's see if they add some pyros or something for extra oomph for the semifinal. Blogilkar interviewed Hannah yesterday, here.
ESTONIA - Birgit - Et uus saaks alguse
Birgit and her windmachine blown white dress start the song in the catwalk - and shot in black and white apparently - before walking to the main stage and joining her three male backing singers. Have they changed the backdrop or was it this geographic rather dark thing to start with? She sings like a pregnant woman only can, that is like an angel. A classy song and classy performance that might qualify after all against all odds! We interviewed Birgit, too. Here.
AUSTRIA - Natália Kelly - Shine
Silver and white for Natália. She starts the song alone in a quite dark purple-blue-golden stage and when the song goes on there's more light, the backing singers come to view wandering in the backgroud in a way that you wonder if they are lost or what's the point? But, it sure will look different on TV-screens. By the end also Natália find the windmachine. She sings very well but... is there something missing perhaps?
