1,5 million liters of water is the amount that rained down the Olympic stadium during the world champs week. And most remarkably 2/3 of it came down that famous Tuesday in about 20 minutes time. Add approx 500 lightnings and you get the idea... In other words, it rained that week in all 102 mm instead of the usual 20 mm... Now that's quite a lot. No wonder the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet called Helsinki Hellsinki...

Well, I am happy I didn't have a ticket to the games this afternoon It was hard enough to get home when all public transport was or suspended or delayed. Both Kamppi and Forum shopping centers were leaking water inside and in Vuorikatu it was about 1 meter of water... Way to go, Helsinki. No need to ad the electricity was cut off in the Olympic Stadium for safety reasons and all games suspended... Not really great PR, is it?
