Sweden seems to be the number one song to beat this year, if you believe the betting odds. What a surprise. The entry has also caused most headlines by being not only a bit too much inspired by this, but also the staging backgdrop has been heavily inspired by this, so much that they have agreed to change it (read: make him fatter and put some cloathes on. The figure, not Måns that is) and SVT pulled the video off to save them from some copyright war. This said Heroes sounds like a radiohit, but is it an Eurovision winner in the end? Maybe not....
Måns (28) is no stranger to Eurovision having participated in the Swedish Melodifestivalen twice before; 2007 with Cara mia (3rd) and 2009 with Hope & Glory (4th) and hosting it in 2010. He has also won Let's Dance, hosted popular tv-shows, done musicals and turned into all around entertainer. Who would have thought after he came only 5th in Idols 2005? And did you know he's Indian ocean earthquake 2004 survivor?
He has released so far three albums (fourth coming later this year) and additional two Christmas albums. Two first albums went to #1, as have two singles so far (first and last or Cara mia and Heroes). Other singles include Work of art, Brother oh brother, Miss America, Hold on, Impossible. The singles from his latest album Barcelona Sessions didn't chart (Broken parts, Beautiful life, Run for your life).
I did like Heroes when I saw it for the first time, and I underline saw. Somehow it just isn't the same when you only hear it. Unfortunately. I would like to like it a lot more than I actually do, I kinda grew out of it after a few hearings. But then we must remember most voters hear, sorry SEE it for the first time in Vienna and will surely vote for it, too. Sweden does always well among fans, and especially Måns seem to be doing well also in the looks department, what I can see in chatrooms and blogs and sites. So, this is an entry to be seen. After all there is "vision" in Eurovision.......
We are the heroes of our time
But we're dancing with the demons in our minds...

Now that I have the ESC Cd, it's a track I tend to skip. If/when it wins, it'll be another Marie N (Latvia), nothing without the visual :(
