Second day of the rehearsals of the first semifinal following a night of Eurocafe opening (apprently rather boring event.....) and eveything seems to be going smoothly. Montenegro started and we got to see some rather spectacular staging it seems. The theme seems to be astronauts. Now I'm getting very curious how well they do! Lithuania followed with Something. Andrius has three male backing singers and one female. Apparently he still is lost on stage looking for something, and it all seems quite dark and dull. Oh well... Next was Belarus with all the gimmicks in the book and a chrystal egg to match. Not be overshadowed Moldova brings in the huge frock with lights, a couple of dancers and Pasha Parfani in piano. Is it enough? I'm not sure if the deciding the running order by the producers has really worked (listening only yes, but seeing, too perhaps less so) as another huge show number follows: Ireland. Very colorful, powerful, lots of eye candy, a huge singalong beat, drumming. Ireland could do very well again! Then comes Cyprus, alone on stage with her windmachine. She might benefi from this positions if all the gimmicks before her have tired some viewers. Belgium turns up the beat again when Roberto takes the stage with his two lady dancers and thee backing singers. Nicely staged indeed. Last but not least something else: Serbia. I had the problem before with this song: I love to listen to it but when I see it I get trouble. And now seeing what the girls are wearing, putting CatCat in shame and shadow, it's more problematic than ever.... I hope they don't distract all the voters. I guess I would just sit and stare and forget to vote for them even if I wanted to.... Oh, and the girls have doubled themselves and there are three more sober dressed ones on stage, too.
That's it for tonight. Back tomorrow! God natt! Imorgon är en annan dag.... Ding Dong!
