Carl-Magnus Palm, a leading ABBA expert in Sweden and in the world has written a new ABBA book. It focuses a lot on not so well known facts about Agnetha's, Björn's, Benny's and Anni-Frid's personal lives and the dramatic marriage life of the two couples. It gives new information on their early years, breakthrough, years in on top and the sad last few years before break up. There is also a lot of trivia about the world and society in change in those top years as well as the Nordic music business. This book gives a lot to real ABBA fans "who know it all" and to those who hardly can tell Benny and Björn apart. ABBA's story is a real rags to riches succes story telling how four Swedish folk singers ended up being world's biggest pop band, and whose music still lives strong almost 30 years after they "took a break" thanks to Mamma mia! musical and movie, and how they go on selling thousends of record every day around the world still today.
The book was released in Sweden as ABBA - The story: Berättelsen om supergruppen, in Norway as ABBA - Verdens største popeventyr and in Denmark as ABBA - Historien om supergruppen in 2008, and recently in Finland simply sas ABBA. It won't be released in English, tell the author. He has previously written a biography in English called Bright lights, dark shadows.
